Bernadette is a graduate of Louisiana State University where she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Women and Gender Studies. She is spending two years in Gamasara, Tanzania working with the Emmanuel Center for Women and Children as a Global Mission Fellow for the United Methodist Church. She is also a candidate for ministry in the Louisiana Conference and intends to go to seminary when she returns to the USA. It is her hope that the global connections made available by the Global Mission Fellows program help facilitate long-lasting justice work and peacemaking as they are identified and called for by local groups. She anticipates her time in Tanzania to be an experience of listening, learning, and hard work.
